Abstract: Increasingly stringent emission regulation as well as precious metal costs require the development of moreefficient and cost effective aftertreatment solutions combined with improved vehicle performances. One of the keyparameter in the development of TWC+FWC catalytic cmission reduction system is to minimize the decay factor ofthe TWC catalyst over lifetime through materials with a higher thermal stability and faster O, response undervehicle operations. Furthermore, the FWC needs to design to ensure high particle filtration and gaseous emissionconversion functionalities. As a result, the developed a TWC+F WC catalyst system that meets China 6b regulationon a future commercial vehicle that enabled 14% reduction of precious metal usage per vehicle compared to a state olthe art China 5 system
